The word “Righteous”
is defined as being “characterized by uprightness or morality; acting in an
upright, moral way”. So are we the “righteous”
referenced in the text above? If we are not, can we get to the point of being
counted as upright, honorable, and blameless? Probably not, at least not on our
own. So at what point do we become the righteous? Perhaps the key is
Christ…perhaps it’s when we repent of our sins, confessing our complete
inability to make things right on our own, and professing our true faith in the
one and only Savior Jesus Christ. For it is when we are head over heels
committed to Christ that we find the slate is wiped clean and we are counted as
the “righteous”…the saved…the
redeemed. And we find that safety mentioned above for we are no longer
separated from the Lord because of our sin. And there is one thing we can all
agree on…we don’t want to be counted as one of the unrighteous. We don’t want
to be ones that can’t run to the Lord and find refuge…We don’t want to be ones
that the Lord does not recognize, the ones that the Lord casts aside, the ones
that the Lord does not welcome into his presence. May we find comfort in our
lives today knowing that through our faith in Christ, we CAN run to the Lord
and find REAL security in him…and may we share the critical news of the Gospel
with another, so that in the end, there may not be even ONE that is cast aside,
forgotten, or lost. To God be the glory!
