Daily Verse: Psalm 130:3-4

If you, O LORD, kept a record of sins, O Lord, who could stand? But with you there is forgiveness; therefore you are feared.

Without true faith in Christ, none of us could stand before the Lord and expect to be welcomed into his kingdom. We have all fallen short, thousands upon thousands of times over a lifetime we have chosen sin over righteousness. We have chosen OUR way, the WORLD’s way, over God’s way. It’s a humbling and downright frightening realization that if we “go at it” alone, we WILL fail. If we attempt to live this life separated from Christ, at the moment after our final breath, where we stand before the Almighty God…we will be completely unable to justify the way we have lived…the way we CHOSE to live. We have no excuse, no alibi, no justification that would even come close to “convincing” the Lord that we somehow deserve a place in heaven. We would be destined for hell. Thankfully, there is Christ…and through faith in Christ as THE Savior, we are rescued from our just punishment. Our God forgives…our God erases our transgressions…our God saves! Psalm 130:7 states: “O Israel, put your hope in the LORD, for with the LORD is unfailing love and with him is full redemption”…may we find hope in Christ today, knowing that the love from our Lord is unfailing and that there is full redemption in him!
