God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.
Ever-present…always around, never fleeting, never absent or tardy, always with us, by our side every second, morning, noon, and night…that’s our God. Focus on that for a second: The Creator of all things is actually with us every second of every day. An absolutely incredible realization! Sure, we can’t see him like we see another person, but he is most certainly there. And his very presence lends to how deeply he cares for every person…otherwise why would he make the effort to be “ever-present”? Why would he make the effort to be with sinful creatures like us? Because he loves…he loves at a level we cannot even fathom. Got a battle brewing? Carrying a heavy load that is becoming overwhelming? Walking an uncertain and frightening path? Do it with God…acknowledge his presence and then allow him to go to work, shaping the road ahead, fortifying our walls, and supplying buckets of courage, endurance, and hope. May we take time to recognize the Lord’s presence in our lives today, and give thanks for his incredible display of love. To God be the glory!
