Daily Verse: Matthew 3:11

“…But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry.”

Need a hero? Need someone to imitate, emulate, copy? Need someone to model your life after…to study how they lived and try to apply the same principles in your own life? But it can’t be just anyone…not some ordinary “Joe” on the street, living an average life, doing average things. No…it has to be someone significant, right? Someone who has down something remarkable, impressive…maybe even miraculous. But who? An athlete? An industry mogul? A brilliant innovator? Those are all fine examples but they pale in comparison to one. For there is only one who lived perfectly…one who sacrificed perfectly…and one who loved incredibly. There is a hero in our Savior…and hero in Christ the Lord. He set the perfect example of selflessness, love, kindness, mercy, grace, courage, perseverance, discipline, and love. Want to learn from him? Want to mirror his ways, applying them to your own life? Then crack open the Bible and soak up all there is to learn through God’s Word…and then go out and make it happen in your life. We can’t BE Christ, but we can certainly apply many of the qualities in our own lives that make him a true hero. To God be the glory!
