It seems just about impossible to identify one thing in our “earthly”
lives that does not change in some manner with time. From our hairlines to our waste
lines…from our bank accounts to our relationships…it is all constantly
changing. And for many of us, change is not something we welcome…at least not
in every facet of our lives. But as the text states above, there is one thing
that does NOT change…there is one thing that is constant no matter how many
times the sun rises and sets. That one thing is God…he is absolutely,
completely, and totally the same today as he was yesterday. That means that his
love for us is the same…it does not fade, grow weak, or change its mind. Through
Christ, we have redemption…we have God’s love instead of God’s wrath…and as we
see in Hebrews 13:8, Jesus is constant as well…”Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” So if
there is something that you can hitch your horse to today, it’s that God loved you
yesterday, loves you today, and will absolutely love you tomorrow! It doesn’t
get much more solid than that! To God be
the glory!
