Daily Verse: Psalm 56:3-4

When I am afraid, I will trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can mortal man do to me?

Everyone is afraid at some moment in life…it’s natural. From the point when we were old enough to understand “fear” to the present day, we have been afraid of things. When we were kids, we were afraid of strangers and monsters. In the teen years we were afraid of not being liked or accepted by our peers. As adults, we are afraid of losing our jobs, having some debilitating illness, or simply afraid of the unknown that lies ahead. Whatever it is that we fear, we need NOT fear…for God is in our corner! We aren’t walking this earth alone  and we certainly aren’t facing the fears in our lives alone. With God as our guide, we have the most powerful, most wise, most capable, and most protecting being known to man. In fact, God is the only one that has been able to perform miracles since the very first man walked this earth. So no matter what lies ahead, we can find great hope, peace, and security in the Lord…and we can stomp out that fear that seems to always resurface in our lives. Trust in him…know that he can and will work in our lives. And in the end, when the curtains come to a close, we can push aside fear and uncertainty and embrace joy, peace, and victory. For those who put their faith in Christ are assured of a glorious reunion in heaven…a place of total paradise…a place where fear is not welcome. To God be the glory!
