Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.
This verse touches on something that we are not great at in today’s world: Waiting. Yet it is exactly what we are called to do when it comes to our relationship with the Lord. God has his own timing when it comes to making things happen in our lives. Sometimes we get a response very quickly while other times it can take years to see his work come to fruition. So we must wait…we must wait patiently and faithfully, never doubting that he is aware of our need and never doubting that he is going to take action. We wait for the healing of an illness, wait for direction to new employment, wait for the mending of a broken relationship. We wait for wisdom in parenting, wait for rescue from addiction, wait for confidence and security. And above all else, we wait for the return of his Son…we wait patiently for the day when Christ will return and gather up all those who call him Savior. And when that day comes, absolutely nothing else will matter as we ascend with him to heaven. No doubt that day will be well worth the wait. To God be the glory!
