You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.
This world seems so final…all we have ever known is our life on this earth, and it’s logical that this “existence” is what makes most sense…it’s concrete and it’s real. But we are not at our destination…rather we are still in transit. We are not meant to simply exist here on earth for a bunch of years, take our final breath, then call it quits. What a relief…since this world is full of a lot of struggle and hardship…more for some than others…and it would be completely deflating if this was all there is to our existence. Imagine if our only existence consisted of spending the bulk of each day working at a job that we would hardly classify as fun or joyous. Thankfully there is hope…such incredible joyous hope…knowing that when the curtains finally draw close down here on this little blue planet, our story does not end. Nope…it is only beginning…for once this door closes, another opens that leads into heaven…one that leads to eternal peace, satisfaction, joy, comfort, and rest. Just think about that…eternal joy? We have no concept of that…no experience with really anything that lasts forever… that has no end. Everything in our world has an end…except for our faith and hope in the Lord. Eternity in heaven is real…the peace is real, the joy is real, the “forever” is real. And it waits for ALL who put their faith in Christ. If the world could just get a peek at heaven…a glimpse of what awaits just beyond the curtains…there is no doubt all would come to call Christ their Savior. But that wouldn’t make it faith, then would it? May all come to know the Lord so that all may know the true eternal peace that awaits in heaven. To God be the glory!
