Daily Verse: Acts 11:18

When they heard this, they had no further objections and praised God, saying, "So then, God has granted even the Gentiles repentance unto life."

This a great verse because it highlights the vastness of God’s mercy…he offers salvation to everyone…it is not limited to one nationality, race, gender, or social status. In our world, the “us and them” concept is pervasive…we are different…you are over there and I am over here…you stay there and I will stay here. We tend to compartmentalize each other based on things like where we are from, what job we work, our financial well-being, or what we look like. And this is natural and not necessarily harmful…unless it comes in the way of our sharing the Gospel. For if we “push” another person away, or categorize them differently than us, what are the chances that we are going to share the Gospel with them? What are the chances that we are going to dive into something deep and personal like our  faith in the one true Savior? Slim to none. So as Christians, we must be careful that we do not allow life’s natural “buckets” to deter us from sharing the Gospel message. We have all been created by the one true God…we are all his children…and as it states above, salvation through Jesus Christ is meant for all. May we embrace the message in Acts 11:18, sharing the Gospel message with EVERYONE so that ALL may come to repentance, and ALL may share in the glorious kingdom of God. To God be the glory!
