Daily Verse: Proverbs 3:25-26

Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked, for the Lord will be at your side and will keep your foot from being snared.

 

We find ourselves in a precarious position in our country today. The leaders of our great nation have resolved to be at odds over laws, policies, and the general direction in which this country should move forward. With each new day, the pot seems to be stirred a bit more, the bear is poked with the stick a couple more times, and the division between groups grows wider. As average citizens with little more than the power to vote, we can find ourselves wringing our hands at the situation, getting heated and fired-up, and believing that tomorrow will never be as good as yesterday. But when we pause and step back to consider the bigger picture…to consider where we are and where we are headed…things still look pretty dang nice. In fact, even if the leaders of this country take us all down into the ditch and wallow around in the mud for the next decade, the days ahead are still incredibly glorious. For no matter what happens in this world today, tomorrow, or ten years from now, as believers in Christ Jesus, we are destined for incredible joy, peace, and rest. No more struggle, no more bickering about who is right and who is wrong, no more battles, no more stress, no more uncertainty. Once we take our final breath, all that’s left is pure greatness! May we remember the incredible joy that awaits us, and no matter what the next news report brings our way, live with a smile, giving thanks to the Lord for the promise we have received through faith in His Son! To God be the glory!
