Daily Verse: Deuteronomy 6:7

Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.

The Word of God is not something that we only encounter and discuss when we cross over the threshold into a church. We are not to simply reflect on God’s commands within the walls of a church then leave the wisdom, direction, and knowledge sitting there in the pew until we return the next weekend. Rather it’s to be an all day, every day thing. God’s Word is to be a part of our friendships, a part of our marriages, a guide for our parenting, a counsel for our business dealings, a compass for how we interact as employee and employer…it’s there to guide us when navigating traffic, buying groceries, and watching TV. God’s Word is there to cause us to pause before speaking and acting to consider whether or not we are in alignment with His will for our lives. It is not simply something “nice” to reflect upon occasionally, but rather something that should be imprinted on our lives…every inch, speck, and corner of our lives should be influenced by the Word of God. It’s not an easy task…and at times, it might seem incredibly difficult…but it is the way we are intended to live. It is the way that God intended us to live before we welcomed sin into our lives. What a blessed people we are to have such incredible wisdom and knowledge in the palms of our hands...wisdom and knowledge that was not “cooked up” in the minds of man, but rather directly inspired by the Creator. May we seek to make God a part of every day, rejoicing in the privilege of allowing His commands to impact every square inch of our lives! To God be the glory!
