Daily Verse: Luke 8:39

"Return home and tell how much God has done for you." So the man went away and told all over town how much Jesus had done for him.

The instruction above was spoken by Jesus to a man that had just been healed by the Savior. This man had been plagued for a long time with a demon that was wrecking his life. Jesus commanded the evil spirit to release the man…and the demon did, obeying the words of the Lord...clear evidence that even the evil spirits in this world are called to the carper by our Lord! While this man begged to go along with Jesus, he was instructed to return to his home and spread the news about how his life had been transformed. Imagine the scene in this town…a man that most people likely knew as one messed-up, crazy, and deranged person was now normal! It must have knocked the socks off of those that witnessed this “new” man…yesterday he was all kinds of messed up…and today he is fine…healed, clean, renewed! This man was a genuine walking testament to the incredible healing power of our Lord! What a shame it would have been for this man to remain a recluse…what a shame if he had chosen to keep this miraculous transformation to himself or somehow masked the fact that is was THE Savior Jesus Christ that had restored his life! While we may not have a story as bold or life-changing as this in our own lives, we all still stand as testaments to God’s merciful and loving work in our lives. Whether our story is astounding and life-changing or simple and ordinary, anytime we can tell someone about how God has worked in our lives, we are shining a glorifying light on the Lord. We are opening the door for others to look to the Lord…we are inviting others to see the Savior as their guiding light, their motivation, their reason for living! I pray that when we witness God at work in our lives, we may mirror the ways of this healed man, telling the world about how much the Lord has done for us…bringing glory to the one true Savior! To God be the glory!
