Let the name of the LORD be praised, both now and forevermore. From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets, the name of the LORD is to be praised.
So it expands beyond Sunday mornings? It goes beyond the songs sung and prayers prayed on Sunday morning? It goes beyond the church walls? You got that right! Giving praise to God is a 24-hours a day, 7-days a week, 365 days a year PRIVILEGE that we are given! The opportunity to give praise to the God that has given us every single good thing (James 1:17) in our lives. And this praise expands to ever corner of our lives…it makes its mark on our thoughts, our words, and our actions. Every part of our being can be used to give praise to God…from sunrise to sunset…ALL day. How we treat others…how we react to negativity…the thoughts we allow in our minds…the words we speak with our mouths. Through the strength found it the Holy Spirit, ALL can be “adjusted” to give praise to God! And if we believe in Christ…if we believe that he died specifically for US, then our lives aren’t even ours anymore…we have been purchased…see 1 Corinthians 6:19-20…”Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price.” May we give our lives today in praise to the Lord…not because we are trying to earn our way into his good graces…but because our love for him and gratitude for the gifts he has provided is so overwhelming that we just can’t help but give it all to him! To God be the glory!
