"Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation."
Psalm 91 is an incredible chapter in the Bible…filled with personal (just look at all the direct “you” references) reassurance that we are carefully and completely protected by the Lord…overflowing with evidence that we are NEVER alone, no matter what the day brings…like in verse 3, “Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare and from the deadly pestilence”…and 11-12, “For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone”…and verse 5, “You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day.” I stand down on elaborating further on the text in Psalm 91…for it speaks boldly and clearly for itself. May we take time to reflect on it today…and every day…finding hope in knowing that we are each of immeasurable value in the eyes of the Lord. To God be the glory!
