Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.
There’s no denying it, we can’t fool God. Yet, we sometimes live like we think we can. We tend to put on one “hat” in one environment and another “hat” in another environment…like maybe God isn’t with us on a Saturday night…or during our commute home each day…like maybe he stays in the church building on Sunday morning, waving at us as we get into our cars, calling for us to come back next Sunday. God’s around all the time…and that means ALL THE TIME. For every single heartbeat of every single day, God is in-tune with us. He knows every word we speak, every action we take…and even...get this…every thought we have in our mind…something that we thought WE only knew about. That is why it is so important to be completely genuine in our faith…working diligently at it every day with strict discipline and commitment…maintaining a steadfast commitment to his will and commands. But don’t mistake discipline and commitment as some form of punishment. No way!...Our faith should be viewed as a pure privilege and a complete honor…for we get to serve the very God of gods…the One who made everything…the One who holds all the cards, pulls all the strings, and makes the final judgment…the beginning and the end…the end all be all. When we think about it that way, why WOULDN’T we want to do everything possible to please him every minute of every day. Because we are sinful…and sin pulls us in all kinds of directions but God’s. Thankfully there is hope in Christ…there is wisdom, courage, strength, discipline, and most importantly…salvation. So each day, may we live our faith with a firm commitment to his will…above all else, displaying a genuine heart for the Lord. To God be the glory!
